Intertek Merges RPET Management System Certification into Green Leaf Mark
Intertek now offers recycled content verification as part of our Green Leaf Mark service, a consumer product and systems verification used to demonstrate that environmental claims have been independently verified. Recycled content verification had been previously conducted under the Intertek scheme – Intertek RPET Management System Certification (RPET MSC).
Starting in 2013, the new Green Leaf Mark – Recycled Content Verification scheme will be issued to new customers, while existing customers with the RPET MSC mark will receive the new mark at their annual renewal audit. The Green Leaf Mark – Recycled Content Verification enables manufacturers, brands and retailers to communicate environmental claims about the pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content of their products to supply chain partners and consumers.
Many of the RPET MSC and the new Green Leaf Mark – Recycled Content Verification scheme requirements are identical, but the new scheme includes a broader scope that covers all product categories, more specific recycled content claims and the ability to communicate your claims on product labeling. The Green Leaf Mark – Recycled Content Verification still includes on-site evaluation to verify the raw materials and their traceability, quality system evaluation and issuance of a certificate of conformity.
