Hong Kong Proposes Adopting Up-to-date Safety Standards for Toys and Children’s Products
The Commerce and Economic Development Bureau (CEDB) of Hong Kong has proposed to adopt the up-to-date safety standards promulgated by the relevant standards institutions for toys and children’s products designated under the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance.
The Challenge
Manufacturers, importers or suppliers of such products shall ensure their toys and children’s products marketed in Hong Kong comply with the up-to-date safety standards if the proposal is approved. Major changes pertaining to the versioning of specified standards for toys and eight types of children’s products are listed as follows:
