Mar.12,2024, Guangzhou, China: Intertek, a Comprehensive Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, awarded GD Midea Heating & Ventilating Equipment Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Midea") the world's first ultra-high-temperature Heat Pump Tick-Mark certification for heat pump products. The certification was presented at the 43rd Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) exhibition held in Milan, Italy.

With the short-term energy crisis and the introduction of heat pump deployment policies in various European countries, the demand for heat pumps in the European Union has surged. According to the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), it is estimated that the cumulative installed heat pump capacity in the EU will reach 20/60 million units by 2026/2030, with annual sales expected to exceed 12 million units and a CAGR of 18.9% from 22-30 years.  Midea 30KW and 35KW Light Commercial R290 heat pump, which has obtained Intertek certification, is Midea's flagship commercial product designed to further expand its presence in the European market. It features stable ultra-high outlet temperatures and can serve as a substitute for boilers.

During the testing and certification process, Intertek provided Midea with localized technical support services based on international advanced standards. With a professional technical team and advanced equipment, Intertek collaborated closely with Midea, from defining testing items, indicators, and process guidelines to conducting actual tests. The R290 heat pump successfully passed Intertek's rigorous testing, verifying its outstanding performance of maintaining a stable ultra-high outlet temperature of 85°C , even at extremely low temperatures -25°C, the outlet water temperature can be maintained above 75°C.
