On 23 February 2021, the European Commission has approved and published Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/277 to amend Annex I to Persistent Organic Pollutants Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 as regards the entry of pentachlorophenol (PCP) and its salts and esters. It shall enter into force on 15 March 2021.
Regulation scope: substances, mixtures and articles.
According to the Commission Delegated Regulation, the following specific exemption shall be added:
For the purposes of this entry, the exemption from control measures shall apply to concentrations of pentachlorophenol and its salts and esters equal to or below 5 mg/kg (0.0005 % by weight) where they are present in substances, mixtures or articles.
