As part of the continuous efforts to enhance the Gulf Conformity Mark Platform and ensure seamless integration with member states’ platforms—such as SABER in Saudi Arabia, Hazm in Oman, and the Energy Efficiency Platform in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Yemen, GSO has introduced key improvements to the platform's structure and organization.

This enhancement provides Notified Bodies (NBs) with a unified platform for managing and issuing conformity certificates, while offering consumers and relevant authorities across member states a separate platform for verifying each type of certificate.

As a result of these changes, the verification page addresses have been updated, leading to changes in the QR codes for GCTS. However, the existing QR codes remain valid and will continue to direct users to the appropriate verification pages. Therefore, there is no immediate need to update product packaging or labelling. Manufacturers may continue using their current stock and transition to the new QR codes once the existing inventory is depleted.

This update of QR code refers to the change of the bar code which automatically generated by the system. Both the old and new QR codes are valid and can be scanned for the same verification information, there is no need for manufacturers to update QR code and related packaging or label immediately. Without no additional costs occur, Intertek recommends manufacturers to get a new QR code from notified body and replace the QR code according to actual needs.
