The State Administration for Market Regulation have approved and published the national standard GB 38995-2020《Infant feeding bottles and teats》on October 21, 2020. The new national standard will be formally implemented on November 1, 2021.
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, transportation and storage of baby bottles and teats for infants. This standard is applicable to baby bottles that made of one or more of plastic, glass, metal, ceramic, silicone rubber, rubber, etc. This standard does not apply to medical use bottles and teats, and does not apply to pacifiers.
This standard clarifies the technical requirements for the use of safety for the first time , and specifies a number of mechanical and physical technical requirements for product printing pattern ink adhesion, capacity labelling, capacity accuracy, small parts, acupuncture and tensile resistance, Resistance to boiling water, thermal shock resistance, and safety retention. The standard also stipulates the purchase information, material identification, instructions for use and safety warnings that should be marked on the product, sales package and manual.
The issuance of this standard fills the gap in the safety standards for infant bottles and teats. It has deep reaching significance for promoting the healthy development of the industry. It also has important social significance for guiding consumers to correctly purchase and use infant bottles and teats..
