Liquid-Heating Kitchen Appliances Standards Update Announcement
According to the CSA standard Update Bulletin No. 46 (issued: Feb., 24, 2015), the current standards CSA C22.2 No. 64 and CSA C22.2 No. 1335.2.15 for liquid-heating Kitchen appliances appliances will be replaced by CSA C22.2 NO. 60335-2-15 after June 01, 2017.
Because the requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 1335.2.15 and CSA C22.2 NO. 64 are similar, only the main differences between CSA C22.2 No. 64 and CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-15 are listed as below for your reference.
Please be kindly noted, the appliances that other than liquid-heating kitchen appliance not include in this announcement, the standards maintained.
1. Standard Scope

This standard applies to kitchen-type cooking and liquid-heating appliances in household
and similar applications, also applies to miscellaneous equipment such as aquarium heaters, facial saunas and etc.

– coffee-makers;
– cooking pans;

– feeding-bottle heaters;
– kettles and other appliances for boiling water, having a rated capacity not exceeding 10 L;

– pressure cookers having a rated cooking pressure not exceeding 140 kPa and a rated capacity not exceeding 10 L;
– rice cookers;
– slow cookers;
– steam cookers;
– soy milk makers;
– tea maker;
– wash boilers;
– yoghurt makers

2. Insulation Classification

- appliances designed for outdoor use;
- all appliances intended to be immersed fully or partially in water for cleaning and/or during use;

All of above products shall be provided with grounding connector.

And when the Dielectric Strength Test and Leakage Current Test are cited as the criterion of test result for all other test, although the test method of CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-15 are same as CSA C22.2 No. 64, the all other test may be redone.
