China – 2017 Supervision and Inspection of Uncatalogued Imported and Exported Commodities Launched
In order to strengthen the overall quality supervision of import and export commodities, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and the interests of the state, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) announced that it will organize local inspection and quarantine agencies to implement supervision and inspection of uncatalogued imported and exported commodities beginning in April 2017. The supervision and inspection activities will be conducted according to the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection and the Regulations for the Implementation of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection.
The scope of the inspected products includes, but is not limited to, the annex, and local inspection and quarantine agencies will ultimately determine the product range according to the characters of the imported and exported commodities in their area. (The local inspection and quarantine agencies will release the announcements.) The imported commodities will be inspected at import ports, import distribution centers and ｗｈｅｒｅ they are used. The exported commodities will be inspected at manufacturer, export ports and export distribution centers.
