The USA Approved Amendments to the Safety Standard for Crib Mattresses (16 CFR 1241)
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a direct final rule to amend the Safety Standard for Crib Mattresses (16 CFR 1241).The amendments shall be effective on 3 May 2026.
Each crib mattress must comply with all applicable provisions of ASTM F2933-25 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Crib Mattresses with modification of the following sections:
- Section 5.6.1.1 Mattress Size
- Section 5.6.2 Non-Full-Size Crib Mattresses
- Section 5.8 After-Market Mattress for Play Yard
- Section 5.8.1 For Mesh/Fabric Sided Play Yard Products
- Additional section 6.2.3 test methods
